HP Compaq nc4200

2006-01-27
With the Compaq nc4200 from HP we’re dealing with a notebook that’s been targeted for the business user. HP is a respectable and known company that’s covering a broad line of users with their range of products. Whatever your business needs are you can most likely find a corresponding HP notebook...

..The HP Compaq nc4200 notebook leaves a very good impression on the whole. It may have some slightly minor issues but they’re more than compensated for by its benefits. The notebook isn’t meant for gaming but instead on being lightweight and easy to transport for the businessman. With that in mind it does an admirable job with a powerful performance and a phenomenal battery life! Its small size isn’t an issue either as the keyboard is pretty standard and the keystroke is good.

Review of Uniwill M30IIO

2006-01-02
With the Vega notebook we’re dealing with one of the lesser known brands in the industry. It hasn’t got the same known and respectable reputation as that of Asus, HP or IBM for instance. That doesn’t mean you can’t get a decent notebook and not all cheap ones are lousy ones either...

...When the price is compared and given the fact it’s a sub-notebook you get a lot of value for your money. Therefore if you’re looking for a cheap sub-notebook that’s handy for having with you on the go and not interested in gaming the Vega M30 is a really good notebook that’s recommendable in its price class.

...All in all the HP Compaq nc8230 seems like a really good purchase. It features a good and robust design with a comfortable keyboard with appropriate descriptive logos. Review of Clevo M570A (Genex M570A)

2005-11-30
Today we’re proud of being some of the first to have a test of the Genex M570A notebook. A notebook that so far is quite unique because of its extremely fast graphics chip – the NVIDIA GeForce Go 7800 GTX med 256 MB of GDDR3 RAM. The drool should already be dripping from the tech-savvy gamers as they’ve just got access to one of the fastest desktop powerhouses on their notebook...

...The Genex M570A is a unique notebook in many ways. In some cases it appears so extreme it’s hard to recommend it when compared to a Ferrari 4000 (Athlon CPU and X700) from Acer or an ABook 3600TX though it’s of course up to what you want from your notebook. If it’s a nice all-round notebook that’s screaming of quality, good performance and low weight it’s obviously the wrong notebook you’re dealing with.

Review of Acer Ferrari 4000

2005-11-24
With the Ferrari 4000 Acer has built an officially licensed notebook based around a highly successful Formula One team. Partnering with Scuderia Ferrari Acer have managed to lift themselves above the competition by joining forces with a seven-times World Champion and the team to back him up...

...So how’s it like to drive a Ferrari? The first thing that comes to mind is the noise it makes. It’s not the thundering roar of a Formula One race car as one would hope for. Instead it’s an irritating fan that goes on and on without any real purpose for being that noisy! As I’ve mentioned before this is not a quiet notebook.

Review of Compal FL31 (Zepto Znote 2314W)

2005-11-17
With the Zepto Znote 2314W we’re dealing with one of the smaller-sized notebooks on the market. It’s only equipped with a 14.1” monitor in widescreen format. Therefore the weight of the notebook is also lighter making it good for the mobility inclined users. It’s built upon the trusty Centrino technology which has become renowned for its performance and battery life. Whether or not this configuration can live up to the expectations we’ll find out...

...In the end who might be interested in the Zepto Znote 2314W? If you despise the slightest sound of noise it’s not for you and it’s not for you if you like being on the go. It’s simply put too loud and too power consuming. If you want a high performing notebook with a good grip on office applications it’ll deliver. It’s small and lightweight and comes with a decent finish.

Review of Arima M623 (ABook 3600TX)

10/11-2005
The wildest ATi Mobility X700 graphics chip with 128 MB VRAM, 15” SXGA+ TFT display, DDR2 RAM PC533, built-in Bluetooth, Wi-fi, 8x Dual Layer +/- DVD recorder and a low weight (2.55 kilo), impressive battery lifetime with up to four hours along with it being low-noise makes the ABook 3600TX a favourite of power users and gamers”. Big words from the company itself which is why we’ve chosen to test this notebook to see if it can live up to the hype!...

...Along with the Acer Ferrari 4000 (Athlon CPU and X700) the ABook 3600TX is the fastest notebook we’ve tested thus far when it comes to 3D performance. It’s highly recommendable for gamers that need top-notch performance and a good all-round notebook. It doesn’t hurt you get a compact design and a good quality at a bargain price either.

Review of LG LW60 Express

2005-10-26
With the LW60 Express LG is offering a serious notebook packed with daring specifications and a great feature set. It’s the baby brother to the LW70 model which has a bigger display. LG is targeting both the performance inclined user as well as the movie enthusiast. Many cool features are the characteristic of this product line giving it a distinctive touch. If you want both features and performance this might be the thing for you...

...It’s clearly targeted for the higher end of the user spectrum with its widescreen capabilities and a second generation Centrino CPU. With this model LG has come up with a notebook that’s capable of a mediocre level of unplugged mobility in addition to its raw specifications. Everything from the Sonoma to the X600 ATi graphics chip with dedicated memory running on an Intel 915P express chipset with DDR2 memory says it all. This baby is packed!
